CALL FOR APPLICATION FOR FELLOWSHIPS FOR ENHANCEMENT OF TEACHING AND RESEARCH ON THE EU STUDIES IN ACADEMIC YEAR 2015 - 2016:

2015-02-16 - 2019-01-01.

The European Union Academic Programme in Macao (EUAP-Macao) invites applications for the fellowship programme for visiting scholars (outgoing). The EUAP-Macao was established in 2012, as a consortium of the University of Macau (UM) and the Macau Institute of European Studies (IEEM). It is jointly sponsored by the European Union and the University of Macau, with the mission to disseminate the knowledge, deepening the understanding and promote the visibility of the European Union in the Macao Special Administrative Region, China.
Under the EUAP framework, the FSS establishes this fellowship programme to support its faculty members to enhance their teaching and research competences in EU related subjects and topics. Colleagues from various disciplines of social sciences are welcome to apply for the fellowship programme, but we give our preference to those with academic background in politics, international relations, or public policy and, in particular, with expertise in European foreign policy (defined in a broad way), EU-China, and EU-East Asia relations. A visiting fellow is going to stay at an academic or policy institution in the EU and is expected to largely focus on the EU-related research projects; or discuss and cooperate with European colleagues in curriculum development, syllabus design and lecturing.
Selected applicants are generally granted for a visit of one or two months in the academic year of 2015-2016, although the exact duration of the visit is negotiable. Visiting scholars will receive a financial support of 2,500 euros for each full month stay, in form of subsistence and allowance, together with a roundtrip air ticket at economical class (usually not more than 1000 euros).
Applicants should submit the following documents:
--- An invitation letter from the host institution, usually, in Europe, explaining the purpose and proposed plan;
--- A detailed CV, listing the expertise, publications, and professional experiences;
--- A motivation letter, explaining the purpose, proposed plan, and possible contribution.
The selection panel reviews applications on the rolling basis, but those applications received before the end of September 2015 will be given priority for consideration. Successful applicants are selected on basis of their expertise, motivation and possible contribution to teaching and research on EU studies at the University of Macau. We will notify the result normally in one month after we receive your application. Interested colleagues are welcome to make an enquiry before application.
